The 18-acre, RG Luxury Homes project in Noida NCR which is located on Greater Noida West, was initiated in 2010 with the final deadline of 2014. The construction was stopped in 2016 due to funds. In 2019, a group of homebuyers filed a case with the National Company Law Tribunal.
1900 units in phase 1 of the project have been affected by NCLT proceedings since September 2019, but in February 2020, the NCLT granted a “reverse insolvency order” requiring the promotor of RG Group to complete it with the guidance of an insolvency resolution professional (IRP).
The promoter resumed the development of the project under the IRP’s supervision in October 2021, and in February obtained occupancy certificates (OCs) from the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) for 854 flats in four towers, allowing homeowners to take possession.
IRP Manoj Kulhsreshtha stated that he joined the project after another NCLT-appointed IRP departed it within two years.
“When I assessed the project with my knowledge, it appeared that it could be completed. It took efforts from all stakeholders, and we had hoped to have an OC sooner, but compliance with the requirements had to be ensured as well,” he stated.
